The Black Prism by Brent WeeksThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Unbound Worlds spent time with Terry Brooks, whose new book, Bearers of the Black Staff, will publish on Tuesday. This coming week we have a chat with Terry and Peter V. Brett! Last week also saw Matt Staggs sing Happy Birthday to H.P. Lovecraft and editor in chief Betsy Mitchell posted author John Birmingham’s top six end of the world novels.

In other areas of the internet(s), the first reviews for The Black Prism by Brent Weeks were posted on Orbit Books. And Ethan Gilsdorf over at Tor.com asks the all-important question what happens When Literary Authors Slum In Genre?

A good discussion on that last one is taking place.

In the meantime, here are some of the highlights I found outside of Unbound Worlds in the last week:

  • Excerpts: The Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Review: The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, read by A Fantasy Reader
  • Review: Grimspace by Ann Aguirre, read by Dead Book Darling
  • Review: The Black Prism by Brent Weeks, read by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Giveaway: The Bird of the River by Kage Baker, given by Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review

  • Review: Who Fears Death by Nnedi Okorafor, read by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Comment: Trailer Probe: Sucker Punch, posted by RevolutionSF

I highly recommend all Unbound Worlds readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
