Game of Thrones Air Date Banner

The internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Unbound Worlds posted the First 50 Pages of The Betrayal by Pati Nagle! Author George R. R. Martin visited Los Angeles for a Game of Thrones HBO junket, where he answered numerous interview questions and which was covered by Entertainment Weekly writer James Hibberd. I videotaped the Halo: Cryptum launch with Greg Bear, a fun event. And our Kyle Munley wrote up a retrospective highlighting the cool events covered on Unbound Worlds in 2010!

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com asked readers Best SFF Novels of the Decade, Orbit Books had Kate Elliot write Cold Magic: The Cookie, and Pyr Books posted Cowboy Angels.

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Unbound Worlds week ending 1/8/11:
