Embassytown by China MievilleThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Unbound Worlds posted the First 50 Pages of The Lion of Senet by Jennifer Fallon, news hit that HBO has greenlit the live-action adaptation of A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin, Naomi Novik has a new website, and our very own George R. R. Martin hit Time Magazine‘s Top 100 Most Influential People! Congratulations George!

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com posted the short story The Battle of the Round by Peter Orullian, Pyr Books posted a book trailer for Shadow’s Lure by Jon Sprunk, and Orbit Books posted news about the ebook release of Perfect Shadow by Brent Weeks!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Unbound Worlds week ending 4/23/11:

  • UK Cover Art: The Magician King by Lev Grossman, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Review: Dark Jenny by Alex Bledsoe, read by A Fantasy Reader
