How Brent Weeks thinks the fight will go

“Dear god,” Jonathan gasped. “You’re…you’re quite a pungent fellow, aren’t you?”

“Me?” Stony asked incredulously. “You’re from the early 19th century—was bathing a daily thing for you?”

“My word…you can speak?”

“Yes, I can speak! For someone who used to raise the dead during the Napoleonic Wars, you seem a bit skittish about dead people.”

“Just because I was around death doesn’t mean it’s something I’m comfortable with,” Jonathan scoffed.

“Well, I don’t really have a choice. Granted, I’m not really ‘dead,’ per se.”

“Not yet, you mean.”

“Not ever. I’m not letting some fancified charlatan get the best of me.”

“What…what are you doing?”

But Stony didn’t bother to answer. He calmly moved forward on Jonathan, and as the magician struggled to come up with the words of a spell that might make a difference, Stony was in his face. Grabbing Jonathan by the upper-arms, Stony pulled with all his zombie strength. Jonathan’s screams exploded through the arena as his tendons and ligaments snapped and his arms were wrenched from their sockets. Stony deliberately waited until Jonathan fell on the ground…and then beat the magician with his own arms.

“What do your books say about that, Strange?”

Not surprisingly, Jonathan didn’t answer. Somewhere in the audience, though, a man with thistle-down hair laughed uproariously.
