Unbound Worlds Likes: 6/30/12

11 30 11 -- Year ZeroThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Unbound Worlds featured the First 50 Pages of Year Zero by Rob Reid. Fictional Frontiers taped 15 Minutes of Fiction with China Mieville. Matt Staggs Took Five with Sarah Zettel, and posted Making Magic Magical. And I interviewed Stacia Kane, author of Chasing Magic, as well as posted the steps in Creating a Fantasy Map!

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com posted Todd Lockwood’s Anatomical Study of a Dragon, Pyr Books featured the 2012 Sunburst Award Nominees, and Orbit Books published Caliban’s War by James SA Corey!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Unbound Worlds week ending 6/30/12:

  • Artwork: Star Wars Meet Feudal Japan, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Review: Wake of the Bloody Angel by Alex Bledsoe, read by A Fantasy Reader
  • Review: Beyond the Wall edited by James Lowder, read by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Review: Caliban’s War by James SA Corey, read by Fantasy Literature
  • Giveaway: The King’s Blood by Daniel Abraham, posted by Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review
  • Interview: Bryan Thomas Schmidt, posted by Grasping For the Wind
  • Free Fiction: Rose of Fire by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, posted by The Mad Hatter’s Bookshelf
  • Giveaway: King of Thorns by Mark Lawrence, given by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Review: Dreamless by Josephine Angelini, read by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Game Review: Metro 2033, posted by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Unbound Worlds readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
