Unbound Worlds Likes: 8/4/12

weeks-blindingThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Unbound Worlds featured the First 50 Pages of Star Wars: Mercy Kill by Aaron Allston. Sarah Peed posted New This Month from Del Rey/Spectra: August. Matt Staggs featured Beneath a Rising Moon by Keri Arthur, as well as showcased a Rich Guy Who Apparently Never Saw Jurassic Park. And I posted Chapter Two: Wards of Faerie by Terry Brooks, as well as shared thoughts from a dozen bestselling fantasy authors in To Be A Fantasy Beta Reader!

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com continued to read A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin, Pyr Books asks Why do epic fantasies always take place in monarchies?, and Orbit Books features Patrick Rothfuss and Terry Brooks interviewing one another!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Unbound Worlds week ending 8/4/12:

  • Comment: The Hobbit Is A Trilogy, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Excerpts: Erikson, Williams, and Kemp, posted by A Fantasy Reader
  • Review: A Wolf At the Door by K.A. Stewart, read by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Interview: Carrie Vaughn, posted by Fantasy Literature
  • Review: The Dark Knight Rises by Greg Cox, read by Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review

  • Giveaway: The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks, posted by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Review: Flock by Wendy Delsol, read by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Comment: A Memory of Light Finished, posted by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Unbound Worlds readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
