Happy Birthday to Anthony Daniels!

Happy 68th birthday to actor Anthony Daniels, best known for his role as protocol droid C-3PO in the Star Wars saga. Prior to filming Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, Daniels’ only science fiction experience was a trip to the movie theater to see 2001: A Space Odyssey, which he apparently didn’t care for all that much.

Daniels, like many of the original Star Wars cast, has remained very active in fandom, making public appearance in conventions to meet his many fans, as well as speaking and writing about his experiences playing one of science fiction’s most beloved robots.

Happy birthday to you, Anthony. Hope we’ll see you again in Episode VII!
