Storytelling has ever been a part of the human condition.

That said, its mediums have changed considerably since cavemen and cavewomen told stories on cave walls. Oral. Paper and quill. Printing press. Typewriter. Word processor. Computers. And now it looks like the social media giant Twitter is getting in on it!

Twitter and NYC publishers have teamed up for #TwitterFiction Festival 2014! It begins March 12th, lasting through the 16th!

For those of you who don’t know, #TwitterFiction Festival is an all-day, all-night celebration of storytelling on Twitter. From March 12-16, they’ll be bringing fiction to life with Twitter, a medium that embraces brevity and creativity. Some fantastic writers are taking part and the launch is in New York City.

Here is more information about that launch, which is happening Subculture NYC!

Celebrate the launch of #twitterfiction

L. Stine, James Braly, Diana Spechler, Matthew Robert Gehring, and James & Emily Carmichael, along with some other surprises.

If you live in NYC or will be visiting in two weeks, definitely consider checking this out! It should make for some great storytelling. The last one featured some absolutely hilarious short short short stories!

For the rest of us, we’ll just have to read on Twitter!
