Unbound Worlds Likes: 3/1/14

hobb-foolsassassinThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Unbound Worlds featured the First 50 Pages of Star Wars: Honor Among Thieves by James S.A. Corey. Sarah Peed posted New This Month from Del Rey Spectra. Matt Staggs featured a paragraph from George R. R. Martin’s forthcoming novel, The Winds of Winter, as well as posted a video of author Andy Weir talking at Google about his new book, The Martian! Eric Geller featured the newest Star Wars HoloNet Digest. And I posted the very sad news that Star Wars author Aaron Allston passed away last week.

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com featured the poster for the next season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, Pyr Books compared The Barrow by Mark Smylie to George R. R. Martin’s work, and Orbit Books posted a guest post concerning Unfettered!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Unbound Worlds week ending 3/1/14:

  • Covers: Xenowealth by Tobias S. Buckell, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Cover: The Last Page by Anthony Huso, posted by A Fantasy Reader
  • Guest Blog: Moth & Spark by Anne Leonard, posted by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Comment: Lists & Awards, posted by Fantasy Literature
  • Extract: Fool’s Assassin by Robin Hobb, posted by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Giveaway: Fates by Lanie Bross, given by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Review: The Land Across by Gene Wolfe, read by SF Signal
  • Poster: HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 4, posted by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Unbound Worlds readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
