Unbound Worlds Likes: 3/15/14

hamilton-abyssThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Unbound Worlds featured the First 50 Pages of Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Sarah Peed posted A Letter From James S. A. Corey. Matt Staggs unearthed audio of J.R.R. Tolkien reading from The Tale of Beren and Luthien, as well as interviewed R.A. Salvatore for his new book, Night of the Hunter! Eric Geller featured the newest Star Wars HoloNet Digest. And I posted the cover and line-up for Rogues edited by George R. R. Martin & Gardner Dozois, as well as uploaded video of Brandon Sanderson reading a new forthcoming novella.

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com continues its re-read of A Feast For Crows by George R. R. Martin, Pyr Books sees Blood and Iron by Jon Sprunk become an io9 Book of March, and Orbit Books posted the new book by Patricia Briggs, Night Broken!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Unbound Worlds week ending 3/15/14:

  • Cover: Rogues edited by George R. R. Martin & Gardner Dozois, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Guest Post: Miles Cameron on Craftsmanship in Fantasy, posted by A Fantasy Reader
  • Review: Harry Potter & the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling, read by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Review: A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin, read by Fantasy Literature
  • Update: The Unholy Consult by R. Scott Bakker, posted by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Review: Tin Star by Cecil Castellucci, read by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Guest Post: Miles Cameron on Writing Fantasy Battles & Violence, posted by SF Signal
  • Cover: The Abyss Beyond Dreams by Peter F. Hamilton, posted by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Unbound Worlds readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
