Post-NYCC Author Coffee Klatsch At Penguin Random House

On Monday, October 12th from 11:00am-1:00pm (the day after the New York Comic Con), the fine people at Penguin Random House will be hosting several authors at their offices for an informal meet-and-greet for fans—offering free books too!

This is an idea from Robin Hobb. Whenever she travels, she tells fans over Facebook to meet her at a local café to get books signed. It’s an informal Coffee Klatsch-type event, for readers who can’t make it to her formal event. We did this last year after NYCC and this year we have adopted it again!

And we invited even more writers to attend!

Here is the list:

  • Bradley P. Beaulieu
  • Terry Brooks
  • Myke Cole
  • Alis Franklin
  • Melissa Grey
  • Susan Griffith
  • C.A. Higgins
  • Marshall Ryan Maresca
  • Sylvain Neuvel
  • Naomi Novik
  • Daniel Jose Older
  • Bill Schweigart
  • Alan Smale
  • Shawn Speakman
  • Michael J. Sullivan
  • Erin Tettensor
  • Judd Winick

As you can probably see above, this is a major event. A lot of great writers will be attending the Coffee Klatsch, willing to sign books and talk about their work. For me, I am bringing a sign-up sheet for free ebook copies of my anthologies Unfettered and the forthcoming Unbound—both of which feature Penguin Random House authors!

The gathering will be at Penguin Random House. Here is the address:

Penguin Random House
1745 Broadway
New York, NY 10019

Someone will be stationed downstairs in the Penguin Random House lobby for the entire time (11am-1pm) directing people to the appropriate floor. This will be a revolving door event, so no need to get there at any particular time within that 2 hour period. Readers can show up anytime between 11am-1pm. Important To Note: Penguin Random House will not be selling books at this event. You are encouraged to bring any books you wish signed. And Penguin Random House will be giving away the first-in-series book for every attending author!

To attend, you must send an RSVP email to DelRey@randomhouse.com with the subject line RSVP!

So if you live in New York City or if you will be in the city on October 12th, definitely attend this event. Not only will you see the interior of Penguin Random House—a cool place, for sure—but meet these amazing authors!

And get free books!
