Tie-in prequel to the Burst Angel girls-with-guns anime. Takeru, a wimpy teenager, comes home one day to find two beautiful girls hiding in his room. Meg, the perky talkative one, blackmails him into letting them stay there on the threat of showing his mom his porn collection, so that Jo, the cool aloof one, can rest in Takeru’s bed and recover from an injury. But soon enough the girls are tracked down by evil gangsters, and it turns out that Jo is a genetically engineered mercenary gunwoman and Meg is her pseudo-lipstick-lesbian hanger-on. (Meaning that there’s no romantic opportunities for Takeru, but at least Meg and Jo inspire him to stand up to bullies.) The tedious, episodic stories follow a formula, in which Meg acts cute while Jo blows away bad guys and gets slashed across the breasts so that blood covers her nipples. All this takes place in a world where, apparently, half of Tokyo is in ruins occupied by evil cyborgs, while Takeru still wears a school uniform and goes to class. The art is bland, with a distracting fuzzy look, as if it was drawn in color and then converted to grayscale. An excruciating reading experience.
